Grade B Pressure Welder Responsibilities

The successful candidates will perform welding and fabrication duties in demanding industrial environments. Responsibilities include interpreting welding process specifications, reading blueprints and technical drawings, and following welding manuals and established processes.

Workers will operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, determine material weldability, and operate welding machines to fabricate or repair metal components and products.

The position also includes maintaining welding, brazing, and soldering equipment and completing minor repairs when required.

Welding Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should have at least 5 years of welding experience and a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate in welding technology or an equivalent welding qualification.

A Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate and First Aid Certificate are required.

Experience with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is required. Experience in pressure vessels, structural construction, and process piping is particularly relevant to this role.

Work Environment

The position involves physically demanding work and requires candidates to stand for extended periods. Work may take place in outdoor, cold, refrigerated, dusty, hot, noisy, and dirty environments.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work safely in demanding conditions are important.
