Welder Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work in an industrial manufacturing environment. Main duties include interpreting welding specifications, reading blueprints and technical drawings, operating welding equipment, and fabricating or repairing metal parts and products.
The role also involves operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, determining material weldability, and starting, stopping, adjusting, and monitoring robotic welding production lines.
Workers will also maintain welding, brazing, and soldering equipment and perform minor repairs when required.
Requirements and Experience
Applicants should have an Other Trades Certificate or Diploma or equivalent experience. The employer requires 3 to less than 5 years of experience.
A Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate is required. Experience with arc welding equipment is also relevant to the position.
The work environment is dusty, hot, and noisy. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, handling heavy loads, and performing physically demanding tasks. Strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, punctuality, flexibility, and teamwork are important.
Applicants must provide their own steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, and welding helmet.
