What the Role Entails
As a Maintenance Technician, you will take ownership of critical plant systems and equipment while championing a proactive approach to maintenance. Your day-to-day will be fast-paced and varied, including:
- Work Order Execution: Managing and documenting tasks efficiently using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Equipment Reliability: Monitoring, troubleshooting, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Helping develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and energy-efficient facility projects.
- Safety & Compliance: Upholding strict Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards, conducting area inspections, and keeping your workspace clean and safe.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with your peers, coordinating external contractors, and participating in an on-call rotation to handle after-hours alarms.
What We Are Looking For
We want someone who rolls up their sleeves and brings a practical, solutions-oriented mindset to the table. Ideal candidates bring:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in industrial plumbing, HVAC, or industrial building maintenance (experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing is a strong plus).
- Technical Proficiency: Confidence using hand/power tools and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong Soft Skills: Excellent communication, self-motivation, high organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Requirements: Access to reliable transportation for full-time hours (40 hours/week), a clear criminal record check relevant to the position, and WHMIS certification (considered an asset).
Compensation, Schedule & Perks
We believe in taking care of our team members who keep everything running:
- Starting Wage: $26.50 per hour (based on experience).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with an on-call rotation as required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
To ensure you succeed in this role, it’s important to know what the environment looks like:
- Physical & Environmental: This is an active, hands-on role requiring prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing required PPE (such as safety eyewear, gloves, and masks). You will navigate variable temperatures, humidity, and lighting, while working alongside commercial cleaning products.
- Plant Specifics: Our facility involves exposure to cannabis and plant materials, resulting in a strong plant scent. This environment may not be suitable for individuals with cannabis or plant pollen allergies.
- Psychological: A fast-paced, production-focused setting that values independence, adaptability, and sharp problem-solving under tight deadlines.
