Main Responsibilities
The successful candidates will interpret welding specifications, blueprints, drawings, manuals, and technical processes. Duties include operating manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment.
Workers will perform flame cutting, arc-air cutting, metal shaping, bending, and straightening. They will determine material weldability and fabricate or repair metal parts and equipment.
The role also involves operating lifting equipment and maintaining welding, brazing, and soldering equipment. Work may take place at commercial, industrial, and manufacturing locations, so employees must be willing to travel.
Welding Experience Required
Applicants should have at least five years of relevant experience. Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals is required.
Useful welding experience includes OAW, SMAW, TIG, MIG, FCAW, plasma arc welding, multipass welding, and boiler work.
Experience with custom fabrication, machinery repair, pressure vessels, structural construction, and process piping is valuable.
Certifications
The employer requires several credentials, including Pressure Welding Certification, WHMIS, Welder Trade Red Seal, Fall Arrest Protection Training, and Forklift Operator Certification.
